The casual look is comfortable, understated and stylish. It is not untidy or unkempt. What may appear to an onlooker as a look which is achieved with ease requires a bit of planning. This is especially true if looking casual doesn’t come easily to you. In order to look casual, it is important that you look at your wardrobe with a critical eye. It is time to bid adieu to anything that doesn’t fit you well or complement your body shape. It is not necessary that you throw away clothes just because they aren’t considered trendy at the moment.

Clothes
There are some styles of clothing that never go out of style. A great pair of blue jeans that fit you well and a white shirt or t-shirt is great to achieve the casual look. Team them up with comfortable and stylish shoes. Add some accessories and you no longer have to worry about whether you look casual, because you know you do. To create the casual look you would need to also consider the season. In the summer time a pair of capris can be teamed up with a t-shirt or a nice shirt in a style that is great for your body shape. Wear a smart pair of shorts with a well fitting t-shirt, a skirt with a halter neck or a wraparound skirt with a top. Don’t forget to add some sandals that show off your well groomed feet.

In the winters opt for smart sweaters, hats and gloves that can be matched up with several clothes. Your winter casual look should include jeans, turtlenecks, polo neck tops, jackets, sweaters, wraps and smart accessories such as belts and scarves. Footwear would consist mainly of boots, which are clean and well maintained. Also remember to wear thermal wear, which will reduce the number of layers you would otherwise have to wear to stay warm.

Hair
Wear your hair in a simple style such as a ponytail, a messy bun or leave it down. Do ensure that your hair is clean, well groomed and free of split-ins. Remember to condition your hair well, especially in the winters, when the air tends to be dry.

Makeup
Wear minimal makeup that accentuates your best features. Wear a foundation closest to your skin tone and blend it well with your skin tone. Use a concealer on freckles, pimple and blackheads. Now that your skin looks flawless, add a touch of color with some blush, lipstick and eye makeup. Opt for neutral shades such as beige and brown. You can use pastel shades for the cheeks and lips that suit your coloring. When out in the sun wear adequate sun screen and sun glasses. Spray on some subtle perfume that makes you feel confident and pretty and you are ready to take on anything that the world throws at you.
