Make up is used to make a person look beautiful. It also helps the person to showcase more of her assets and highlight her best features and tone down flaws. One of the most utilized make ups that are there to help unravel the flaws of an individual is the concealer. The concealer is an effective tool in cosmetology to conceal or cover the unpleasant things such as spots, dark circles, pimples, scars, blemishes and it helps to make the skin look so smooth and even. However, one must be able to learn how to apply it effectively so that the best results could be achieved. Also, when buying a concealer, choose something that is close to the shade of the skin.

The concealer can be in a liquid or a solid form. It is an important thing to have one of both. Also, you need moisturizer and foundation too. You have to use the moisturizer first before actually applying the concealer especially if you have an extremely dry skin or if the spots you will be concealing are dry and flaky; the concealer will just dry it out further.

If you are new to this and have no idea how to apply it, then the tips below would help you to use the concealer effectively.

There are two kinds of concealer available in the market; one is the solid concealer while the other is the liquid based concealer. The former is much preferable to be applied in small areas such as pimple, acne marks, and scars and bruises while the latter is effective to apply in larger areas such as dark circles and some other dry spots too.

There are different hues of concealer. If you will be covering a red spot such as pimple, you should use a greenish tint. For dark spots and circles use the yellowish one or the cream color. Then, it is such a good idea if you use the power of eye shadow to mix with the color of the concealer to have an even color.

You do not have to apply concealer on the entire area. You can use a brush or even the tip of your fingers to put some dot on the region to be concealed. You can also use some pointy cotton swab. Then, use your finger or a flat type of brush to blend it outward the area of the skin. If it is not concealed well, add more and blend it well. Also, you have to make sure that it naturally blends well with the tone color of your skin and there are no other excess of concealer that is left on the sides and other areas to achieve smoother lines.

If you are concealing a larger area such as dark circles, you have to reverse the technique. This time, you have to put some amount of concealer in the surrounding part then blend it in until you have concealed the inner part.

If things do not go according to plan, just use a tissue to remove the concealer on the specific area. Check if it achieved what you wanted for your face.
